Enow Ngachu: « At Anafoot, we will do everything to have only the best »

The first meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) held on Wednesday, 16 August 2017, allowed the officials of this institution to prepare the deployment of the activities on the ground.

The National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) held its first Board of Directors on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 in Yaoundé. During the meeting chaired by Issa Hayatou, chairman of the board of directors of this structure responsible for training young footballers, among other things, it was a question of defining the organizational structure of the structure, examining the staff and organizing The deployment of this academy on the ground.

« The anafoot existed on paper. From now on, we will create the structures to accommodate it. First at the level of the regions, the ten regions will know clusters that will welcome young Cameroonian footballers. And we will also be in Yaoundé to be able to finalize their training. That was accepted by the board of directors. We also reviewed the organizational chart, we looked at the Anafoot staff, for the moment, it’s a bloated staff that we cannot have, because that’s only the beginning. « Explained Issa Hayatou  at the end of the meeting.

According to the former president of the African Football Confederation (CAF), the organization chart of the National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) will enter service as soon as the final criteria are met (« probably in a week »). On the modalities of selection, Carl Enow Ngachu, Director General of ANAFOOT explains that the first selected young people will each disburse the sum of 50 000 CFA Francs. This amount will be distributed as follows: 10,000 francs for registration fees and 40,000 for work kits.

The chief executive of the National Football Academy ensures that young people will be recruited on the basis of meritocracy.

« We are going to make sure that we can have only the best, that is to say, to have the rare pearl because, after all, we think of Cameroonian football, we also think of those young people who, after their Footballer can have trades, « says the CEO of ANAFOOT. Alongside the footballers, training will also be given to all those interested in the trades related to football. « We are going to do training for them such that they can have the diplomas thanks to which they can find jobs in other fields, » assures the one who wishes not to betray the confidence of the President of the Republic Paul Biya.

Created at the end of September 2014, Anafoot’s main missions are: initiation and supervision of young people to the practice of high-level football, initial and continuing training of trainers in theoretical teaching and Discipline, development of local expertise in related trades, collection, conservation and dissemination of documentation as well as basic and applied research. The first persons in charge of this structure were appointed on May 24, 2017 by presidential decree.
