CAMEROON: A DOZEN OF CAMEROONIANS DIED IN MECCA

A dozen of Cameroonians lost their life in a crush at Mecca last Thursday during the celebration of the feast of the Tabaski. This information is still unofficial, and it was delivered by the MINATD that 13 Cameroonian pilgrims lost their. It is said that 8 of this pilgrims are from the Adamawa region, 2 from the North region and 3 from the Far North region.

More than 170 Cameroonian pilgrims are unreachable “we are afraid that the number of death shall increase in the next hours. Research is still going on in hotels, in town and even at the mortuaries” said our contact at the MINATD.

For your information, 717 pilgrims died and more than 805 are wounded. According to a numbers of media in Saudi Arabia, the number of death can increase in the next days.

This year, there were about 4500 Cameroonian candidates for this Hadj in Saudi Arabia. Each of them was to deposit 2 millions FCFA representing the transport fees and the rest was to take charge of them in Saudi Arabia.
