This afternoon, the magazine CULTUREBENE met the different misses participating at Miss Cameroon 2015, so some of those miss shall be presented below.
Name: TAKANG Kelly
Miss 9
Representing: South West region of Cameroon
Age: 19
Weight: 53kg
Height: 1m76
Position: First runner in the South West region
Level of studies: Student of Accountancy at the Catholic University of Buea.
Project if elected Miss Cameroun: Kelly said: “I will promote environmental awareness and also gender equality.”
Reason for becoming a Miss: Kelly said” I believe I am fit mentally and physically”
Difficulties encountered: her main problem was to conciliate studies and Miss Cameroon Competition program.
Name: EKANE MESINZE Rita
Miss 11
Representing: South West region of Cameroon
Age: 22 years old
Weight: 56kg
Height: 1m68
Position: Miss South West
Level of studies: Masters 1 in environmental management
Project if she is elected: she said: “I will promote environmental awareness, the causes and effects of climatic changes.
Reason for becoming a miss: she said: “At first I wasn’t interested, but after sometime I felt I can do that because of the theme of this year which is related to my field of studies.”
Difficulties encountered: she said: “I didn’t really faced difficulties apart from conciliating school work and Miss Cameroon Competition.”
Name: KAMAKO Myriam
Miss 16
Representing: West region of Cameroon
Age: 19 years old
Weight: 55kg
Height: 1m72
Position: Second runner West region
Level of studies: Second year student in marketing sale and communication at the Central African Catholic University.
Project if she is elected Miss Cameroun 2015: she said: “I will promote environmental awareness especially the cleaning up of markets, which is the project I have already started. Also, I will implement program that will sensitise children about cleanliness at their tender ages.”
Reason for becoming a Miss: she said: “I just love it”
Difficulties encountered: she said: “It was difficult to conciliate studies and Miss Cameroon competition and also the process was long at the level of administration.”
Name: NANGE Mary Chantal
Miss 19
Representing: North West region of Cameroon
Age: 24 years old
Weight: 59kg
Height: 1m74
Position: First runner in the North West region
Level of studies: Masters II in Educational Administration at the University of Buea
Project if elected Miss Cameroon 2015: She said: “I will head a campaign with the ministry of Culture in order to sensitise the population to keep their environment clean. Also, I will help street children by promoting education because every child has the right to education”.
Reason for becoming a Miss: She said “I aspired to be Miss Cameroon after watching Miss U.K 2013, so I said to myself this is my own year to raise my country.”
Difficulties encountered: She said: “I haven’t encountered any difficulties for the moment”.
Name: NGO MINKA Fernande Therese
Miss 14
Representing: North West region of Cameroon
Age: 21 years old
Weight: 55kg
Height: 1m76
Position: Miss North West
Level of studies: She is doing her bachelor degree in administration at the University of Cambridge in Buea.
Project if elected Miss Cameroun: She said: “I will sensitise youths to be responsible and to keep their environment clean. I will also sensitise youths about education especially the female gender. Also, I will help the urban community to build better drainage system.”
Reason for becoming a Miss: She said: “It is dream for me becoming a Miss and I love the context too”.
Difficulties faced: She said I was stressed up during this program, due to the fact that you always have to convince people to abide to your point of view.”
Name: BILOGO MAURANNE
Miss 18
Representing: Littoral region of Cameroon
Age: 19 years old
Weight: 62kg
Height: 1m77
Position: Second runner in Littoral region
Level of studies: Second year student in Applied Management at the Catholic University of Douala.
Project if elected Miss Cameroon: She said: “my project is to promote entrepreneurship, especially for the female gender because of their low percentage in that field.
Reason for becoming Miss: she said: “becoming a Miss is a way to have a platform to prone and ease the accomplishment of my project.”
Difficulties faced: She said: “my only difficult in this competition is to have a natural smile. I can smile, but it is not natural but I am working on that.”
Name: Jessica NGOUA
Miss 6
Representing: Littoral region of Cameroon
Age: 24 years old
Weight: 62kg
Height: 1m80
Position: Miss Littoral
Level of studies: Master in Communication at the University of Douala
Project if she is elected Miss Cameroon: she said: “my project is to promote environmental awareness and recycling of water.”
Reason for becoming a Miss: she said “I was encouraged by my family and friends. And it is also a platform to ease and prone my project.”
Difficulties faced: she said: “it was really difficult to conciliate studies and the Miss competition.”
Name: GUIMBANG A DONG
Miss 20
Representing: North region
Age: 25 years old
Weight: 62kg
Height: 1m78
Position: Miss North region
Level of studies: Student of German language at the University of Maroua
Project if elected: she said: “I shall promote education for street children and also sensitise the population to keep their environment clean.”
Reason for becoming a Miss: she said “At first it was for fun but as time went on, I decided to do it to promote peace in my country.”
Difficulties encountered: she said: “the only problem I encountered was the problem of distance and transport fair. This is because I live at Maroua, and it was not really easy to go to another part of the region when the need arose.
