Who is QUEEEN EFON ? the Cameroonian producer and Actress in NOLLYWOOD?

Born in Douala Cameroon in April 1984 by her real name Mafor Queen Efon ATUD popularly know as QUEEN EFON  or Queen Efon the First Of Duisburg

is a Cameroonian filmmaker who did her secondary and high school in Cameroon and then flew to Germany where she pursued her studies at the University of DUISBURG -ESSEN in Germany.

Active since 2020 in the film industry, Queen Efon landed her first film credit in June 2024 as an actress and executive producer in the feature film TIME FOR WAR, a thriller written produced, and directed by Percy Monday Edoki. Queen pursued movie production, releasing still in 2024 the movie  » THE EDGE » featuring herself, once again prominent Nollywood superstars in the likes of Prince Nwafor, Vincent Opurum , Joseph Daniels, and a Guest star Cameroonian Actor DUPREE KOUAL . The success of The Edge in 2024, directed by Kenneth U. Ibeanudi (ANMD) on which she worked as an executive producer and actress brought her attention and credibility and launched her career as a producer. Queen delved into the film business in 2020.

Queen Produced still in 2024. TIME FOR WAR starring major Nollywood A-list Actors like Kelvin Ikeduba, Junior Pope, Joseph Daniels, Cordillia Okonta, herself, and many others. It received fair attention at film festivals and did not gain the most desired popular acclamation upon release.

She has since founded QUEEN EFON PRODUCTIONS and EFON TV Pictures. This company plans to take a so-called « Silicon Valley » approach to filmmaking by investing in original, daring movies made by prestigious directors and screenwriters. Believing that risk-averse Nollywood studios have largely abandoned sophisticated dramas, period pieces, and auteur cinema, QUEEN EFON PRODUCTIONS will release cutting-edge movies in its next productions. Queen Efon’s charitable work includes increasing awareness of violence against women.

The Edge, also made in 2024, got a release and was pretty good at the box office as it englobed a well-known cast of popular actors on the African continent. Her investment paid off as that movie found major commercial and critical success when released by mid-2024

She regularly makes her voice heard when it comes to GBV issues, leading support groups on how to go about abuses.  On several occasions, we’ve heard her criticize discrimination against women. Her platform is on the way whereby she will tackle these issues and provide not only counseling but reinsertion programs for these women.

Queen Efon also advocates breastfeeding. She aims to reduce the stigma associated with breastfeeding (especially among working-class women) and to encourage infant nutrition. One of her major courses in this like is to have job sites provide particular rooms for their breast-feeding staff. A certain number of hours should equally be set aside for this activity.

Queen is equally pretty much involved in humanitarian actions as she often provides psycho-emotional, material, and financial support to orphanages. Lately with the outbreak of civil unrest in the two English-speaking regions of Cameroon, she has tremendously provided support (school furniture and foodstuff) to the internally displaced due to these conflicts, “Being an orphan myself, I can totally relate to their struggles. It’s the hardest battle I’ve had to deal with in my life. Losing your parents is not something you can wish for anybody, not even your worst enemy”, she said. By la redaction
